Damaris Randle
Damaris began dancing before she could walk. Inspired by dancers such as Ginger Rogers and Cyd Charisse, she began studying ballet at three years of age. At fourteen, she broadened her scope to include jazz and modern dance. She started teaching dance the following year. She added tap and African dance to her repertoire while completing a minor in Dance Education at Northern Illinois University. After receiving a generous grant from the State of California, Damaris was able to further explore modern dance, as well, as hip-hop and Pilates. Seeing ballroom and Latin dancing as a viable option for the mature dancer, she brought her talents to Fred Astaire Dance Studios in 2003. Today, Damaris enjoys teaching, performing, and choreographing all of the major social dances.
